New model harder nylon compound that does not break down.
Assists with precise downhauling on Ezzy sails with downhaul calibration guides. 2 x adjustable O rings for perfect seal on most masts
Fits masts tips with inside diameter 24-25mm. Hole diameter 20mm. Overall length 47mm
Notes from customer:
I have fitted the mast tip insert into an older Ezzy 430 mast that had an inside diameter of only 23mm
Leaving a worn mast tip inside the mast was not a safe option. A similarly worn tip has been FORCED INSIDE a mast during rigging, which induced a failure of that mast tip.
Measurements / observations:
- a) The rubber ring at the bottom in the below image, WAS able to be compressed to the required 23mm diameter.
- b) The rubber ring, second from bottom in the below image, WAS NOT able to be compressed to the required 23mm diameter
- c) Forcing the assembly into the mast (as supplied) would probably damage the mast.
- d) The coved groove, third from the bottom, is deeper than the other grooves.
Technique adopted for the 23mm inside diameter mast:
1) MOVING THE SECOND FROM BOTTOM RUBBER RING UP TO THE THIRD FROM BOTTOM coved-groove.
2) Generous application of talcum powder to all surfaces as a lubricant.
3) Insert whilst gently working each rubber ring inside the mast using a prying tool, whilst applying minimal force.
